I got the girls and Bode's pictures taken when Bode was 2 weeks old. I think they turned out pretty stinkin cute! Unfortunatly the girls wouldn't sit still long enough to get one of all 3 of them together :(. But I still think what we got turned out really good. Bode Bryant Mathews

Now that our sweet baby boy is almost 6 weeks old, I finally feel like I have time to sit down and blog about him. Bode Bryant Mathews was born on August 9 @ 7:55 AM weighing 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 18.5 inches long. He weighed as much as Bailee and Berklee combined at birth. We had a scheduled C-section and everything turned out perfectly. It was such a relief to finally have a normal pregnancy and birth, and to actually get to take our baby home with us a couple of days after we had him. The girls have adjusted well to him and cannot give him enough kisses throughout the day. He has been such a joy in our home, and we couldn't love him more. My Baby Turns 3

Last Saturday we celebrated the birth of our sweet Brinlee Jo. I can't believe it has already been 3 years. At the time of her birth I didn't know if I was going to make it to the next hour, or day, but here I am 3 years later. I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to have Brinlee in my life, even though it was so short. I am so glad she never will have to experience any trials in her life, and that she has the golden ticket into heaven that we all strive for daily. I am so thankful for her 3 siblings who have blessed my life so much, and who bring joy to me every day. I am so thankful for the knowledge of have of eternal families, and look forward to the day when I will get to hold my beautiful daughter in my arms again.
We celebrated Brinlee's birthday by just spending time as family. We took 3 balloons to her grave and sent them free, as we always do. Then we drove to Preston and had a picnic in the park and played with our girls. It was a great day to reflect on all we have, and our sweet daughter.

Easter

I know I am a slacker when it comes to blogging, but I guess better late then never. For Easter this year we went to Salmon for the weekend with my parents, and two sisters and their families. My Grandma & Grandpa Hume live up there and we have made it a traditon to go visit them every Easter. The weather actually cooperated and we got to enjoy a little sunshine for the first time this year. The girls are starting to really get excited about things, so holidays just keep getting funner and funner. Here are some pictures from our weekend. Decorating Easter eggs was a lot of fun. As expected Bailee threw her eggs in the the dye while Berklee placed them gently in. They both did not quite understand that you couldn't eat the eggs with the shell on and both ended up with multi colored mouths by the time we were finished.

For those of you who haven't already heard we had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday to find out the sex of our baby. I've had a feeling the entire pregnancy that it was a boy, but I wasn't really sure why. I didn't know if it was just because we are due for a boy after 3 girls, or because I wanted to keep up with the Mathews tradition of having 3 girls and a boy. Bryant's brothers all have 3 girls and a boy and so I didn't want to break tradition. Well we found out that we are having a BOY!... and we couln't be any happier. Even though either of us really didn't care what sex it was just that he/she would be healthy. It looks like all the girl clothes that I have will just have to be stored away for awhile, and I will have to go shopping. I'm not quite sure how to take care of a boy, I've never had brothers, and my 2 little girls are far from being tom boys. I'm sure I will figure it out, but I know one thing for sure I am going to be one busy momma! Wish us luck!

20 months

I took the girls to get their pictures taken last week. My sister Aubri went with me and I'm pretty sure that I wore her completely out by the end of the day. The girls were a little dramatic all day starting out with Berklee freaking out at the portrait studio. She was seriously inconsolable. The only way she would let them take pictures of her was if I was holding her, and that is why you can see my thumb in one of her pictures. We unfortunately didn't get any good ones of them together. It was pretty hilarious trying to take them though the photographer had a sheet draped over me while I held them. It didn't quite turn out how I was hoping it would, but we still ended up getting a few good pictures of both of them in the end. I can't beleive how big they are getting, and how quickly they are growing up. Thanks for being such good sister and such a great Auntie Aubri. We really appreciated your help!

Well for those of you who don't know we are expecting baby #4. Yes, I can barely believe it myself. I have now officially been pregnant in 2007,2008,2009,2010,and now 2011. My body is just getting used to being pregnant I think. I have started showing so much faster this pregnancy than I have with the other two pregnancies. I was a little worried I was going to be having twins again, because I have gotten so big so fast, but we had an ultrasound and there is only one in there. Much to the dissapointment of Bryant. He was hoping for twin boys. I am only 12 weeks along, and am expecting our new bundle Aug. 23. The girls will have just turned 2 July 21, so to say the least I am going to have my hands FULL. We are excited though, and can't wait to find out what we are having in 8 more weeks.

Christmas

Christmas was so much fun this year. We spent Christmas Eve with the Mathews side and Christmas Day with my family. Bailee & Berklee were a little bit spoiled this year, but I'm sure no one is surprised by that. The girls caught on quickly on how to unwrap presents, and unwrapped them all by themselves- plus most of mine and Bryant's. I'm not sure they quite understood why all the sudden they were able to make this huge mess, when I had been telling them not to touch them for the entire month previous. I'm sure it's pretty confusing.

I was not surprised at all to Berklee's reaction, because the majority of the time she freaks out when anyone holds her except for me. Bailee on the other hand is a little more daring, and will usually go to total strangers. Looking at this picture you would never know it though. Let's just hope they aren't scarred for life.

Halloween

This year I had so much fun dressing the girls up for Halloween. We went to the school carnival with them on Thursday, and even though they are too little to play a lot of the games they did play a few. Then we took them trick-or-treating to a few houses on Saturday, I don't think they really understood what was going on but they had a tight grip on their buckets and there was no way they were going to let go of them. I love my little buggies.

Pumpkin Patches

A couple of weeks ago me and the girls went to Shelley to hang out with Tiff, John, and Cameron. We went to a pumpkin patch and the girls got to get their very first pumpkins. They didn't really seem to care about picking out the pumpkins, but once we got home with them they couldn't leave them alone. They were packing them all over the house, and Berklee had to taste test them all. Therefore now all my pumpkins have bite marks in them. :) We definetly need to go to Shelley more often to hang out with the Tarbets.

This last Saturday we went to another pumpkin patch in Soda with Aubri, and Isaiah. They gave away free pumpkins, hot chocolate, and food. We got there a half and hour after it started, and luckily got the last 3 pumpkins there. We definetly have more pumpkins than we need now, but what the heck Halloween only comes around once a year.

So I have been a huge slacker in blogging lately. Not for a lack of things to blog about, but just for the lack of time, and the few times I did try to post some videos I always had problems ( so if anyone has any tips on downloading videos to your blog feel free to share) :).
The girls have been changing so much these last couple of months. They are getting so fun. They both are walking now, which keeps me on my toes. Berklee is a pro at walking, and Bailee is getting pretty good too, but still is a little bit wobbly on her feet. They are into EVERYTHING lately, and are just tall enough to reach just about anything and everything they want if they stand on their tipy toes. I am constantly taking something away from one of them, and if one doesn't get into it the the other one will. I have to be very good about not leaving anything laying around or they have it strung through my whole house. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having twins though. They are so fun to watch as they play with each other. I love that they always have a best friend. They are complete opposites in most things, but I think it just makes life funner. I couldn't ask for two better little girls, and they definetly have both their daddy and I wrapped around their little fingers. Along with pretty much everyone they know.

It really makes me wonder why all the sudden they feel like being on their head... but whatever makes them happy

1st Birthday Party

Bailee and Berklee turned one on the 21st of July. I can't believe it. We had a big birthday party to celebrate. All the cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and a few friends were invited to celebrate. They got a little spoiled I'm afraid, but they are just so stinkin cute. It's hard not to spoil them. The girls each got their own cake to destroy. Berklee enjoyed eating her cake, but was not quite sure about whether or not she was going to get in trouble for it.

After the cakeBailee on the other hand. Dug right in. Face first. She didn't even use her hands she just plunged right into the cake with her face. It was so funny. Then towards the end of eating her cake she thought she would share some with her cousins, and she started throwing it at them.

Finished productI love being a mother to twins, and not just any twins, but Bailee and Berklee. They are so fun and their little personalities are getting so funny. They are complete opposites in pretty much everything they do. They look completely different, and act completely different. Bailee is the go getter, the dare devil, the giggly one, and the tease. However, Berklee is more timid, loves to cuddle, and the more sensitive one, but is also a tease. I love these girls more than I could ever imagine, and can't wait to see what this next year brings. I took the girls swimming in Lava last week with my sisters and their kids. We had a lot of fun, and the girls had a lot of fun. We wore them completely out, and Berklee ended up falling asleep while we were still in the pool. It was so cute. I can't beleive how fast summer is flying by. We are going to be celebrating Bailee & Berklee's 1st birthday next Wednesday. Where has the year gone?Having fun eating cheetos with the rest of the big kids for lunch

4th of July

This 4th of July was so fun, because it was Bailee & Berklee's 1st 4th of July. We had a family bbq on Sunday with all of the Mathews's then went to the fireworks in Lava that night. I thought the girls would be scared of the fireworks, but they mostly just sat their and stared at them in amazement. Then on Monday we went to the parade in Soda, I can't wait until next year when they will be able to catch candy. Then we went on a family picnic with all the Mathews, or it was supposed to be. It pretty much just ended up with us getting lost in the Mountains after driving for 2 hours, and then Bryant and I leaving and going to Idaho Falls instead to do a little shopping. It all worked out in the end, and we still had a lot of fun even though we spent most of the day in the car driving. I am so thankful this 4th of July for all that I have. My beautiful girls have brought me so much joy, and I have so much to be thankful for.

First Cheetos

I'm pretty sure that Bailee is going to love chips as much as her dad does. She is the pickiest eater and everything I give her to eat she spits back out at me- that is except for Cheetos. I don't give them to her very often- but when I do she can eat 2 or more in the time it takes Berklee to eat 1. Should I be worried?

I know it looks like we totally tortured our girls, but it really wasn't as bad as it looks. They only cried for like a minute, and then they were back to their happy selves. P.S. Don't mind the lovely pictures Bryant took of me, I couln't figure out how to crop myself out of them, or else I would of.

Here are a couple of pictures I got of their earings a couple days later. They aren't very good pictures, because I couldn't get the girls to hold still long enough to let me take their picture. This one of Berklee is also showing off her first ponytail. So cute!

Another fun experience we had last weekend was taking the girls swimming for their first time. Bailee absolutely loved it. She was like a little fish in water, Berklee on the other had didn't care for it too much. Unfortuanatly we didn't get any pictures of it, because we left our camera in the mall, but luckily found it later.

Berklee has had ear infection after ear infection these last couple months, and every time we put her on antibiotics it never helps. So we decided to get tubes put in her ears. We went down and spent the night in Logan with Lassie- Bryant's mom the night before the surgery because we had to be at the hospital at 6:30 in the morning. The procedure was pretty quick and easy, and now we have a much happier baby. I am so glad we did it. Here are a few pictures of the event. Berklee looked so cute in her little hospital gown

Brinlee,
Well another year has come and gone. I can’t believe you would be 2 years old today. I miss you so much everyday, and I wonder what you would be doing and what you would look like today. I wonder how I would juggle having you and your twin sisters right now who are 9 months old. You would probably be extremely helpful, or you would think you were being extremely helpful in taking care of your sisters. I wish you were here trying to help me change their diapers, feed them, or whatever else you thought you needed to do. I still don’t quite understand why I was chosen to lose you, when your daddy and I wanted nothing else but to love you and raise you now. I know that is an extremely selfish thought though, because I know that I was blessed to have an angel for a daughter who was so perfect in the pre-existence that you didn’t even need to prove yourself in this earthly life. How lucky am I to be your mother. I wonder if your sisters see you, and know who you are. I wonder what conversations you had with them before they were born. I just mostly want you to know that even though I get completely wrapped up in taking care of your sisters, that you are never very far off of my mind. I love you so so much, and as I watch your sisters grow and learn new things, it just makes me realize all that I missed out on with you. I wish I was running after a two year old and two 9 month olds, I know it sounds crazy, but I really do. I love you and your sisters more than anything, and I am so blessed to have them here to help me deal with the lose of you. You are such an example to me , Daddy, Bailee, & Berklee. I know that I sometimes fall short and need to be a stronger more valiant person. I am sorry if I have ever disappointed you, and I promise to try harder to be a better person. I love you Brinlee Jo, and I hope you are having a great birthday playing with your Grandpa Dean. I love, and miss you so much, and I pray for the day when I will get hold you in my arms and kiss those little cheeks again. Happy Birthday baby girl.

1st Easter

Here are a few pictures of our first Easter as a family. Despite the colds my girls had, we still had a lot of fun. We spent the morning at home letting the girls sleep, and try to start feeling better. Then went to my parents and had Easter Dinner with them, my sisters, and their familes. Then we spent the night with Bryant's family just hanging out. The babies loved their new outfits, and stuffed animals they got, mostly because it was something new to stick in their mouths and suck on, but I guess that's all that matters.
We are loving this warm weather and have been enjoying getting out of the house and going on walks. Let's hope it's here to stay. The girls will be 9 months old in 2 days, I can't beleive how fast time flies. Berklee is trying to figure out the whole crawling thing, and I'm sure will have it mastered in the next couple of days. While Bailee on the other hand is just content to watch her sister struggle with it first, and then when she is good and ready she will do it without any problem. That seems to be the way she does everthing, by letting Berklee learn with trial and error and while just sitting back soaking it all in. She is no dummy.

Big Girls

My girls are growing up so fast. I can't beleive they are already 7 months old. Berklee now weighs 16 lbs. and Bailee weighs 12.5. They have always been 2 lbs. different in weight, but this last month Berklee has really just taken off. Berklee learned to roll over, and now can roll pretty much anywhere and is working on the crawling thing. She has also gotten her first 2 bottom teeth. Bailee has always been just a little bit behind Berklee, but just today learned how to roll over. I am so proud of them both.
My girls trying to learn how to sit up. Bailee loves to be held. When I put her in her boppy pillow or her bumbo this is how I usually find her. She tries her hardest to escape whatever it is I put her in. What a stinker! aww at last a sleeping baby!

6 months

I can't believe my girls are already 6 months old. These last 6 months have been the best time of my life, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be a wife, and a mother to such a great family. My girls are growing so fast and changing so much every day, I can't believe how they have grown from the 2 & 3 pound babies I had.
Some of my favorite things about being a mommy include:
1-walking into a room and watching their faces light up with excitement to see me
2-picking them up out of their bassinets in the morning and them getting a huge grin on their face like I am the most wonderful thing they have ever seen
3- hearing them giggle and babble
4-watching them as they grow and discover new things and being so proud of them.
I'm pretty sure that my girls are the cutest babies ever, but who am I to say... I'm just their mom. They have recently started eating solids. I don't think they are huge fans of it yet because most of the food ends up on them or me.They pull these nasty faces and spit it back out at me, hopefully we will get the hang of it soon.

1st Christmas

Christmas this year was so much fun... It was my babies first Christmas. We spent the day at my mom's house with my two sisters and their families. Even though Bailee and Berklee would of been happy with a bottle and some paper to play with, I had a blast dressing them up, shopping for them, and just being their mommy. I love my little girls so much.

Blessing Day

So we finally got our girls blessed yesterday. We are kind of paranoid parents and wanted to wait until they got a little bit bigger and the swine flu cleared before we wanted to take them to church. With all of Bryant's family home for Thanksgiving we decided it would be the perfect time to get their blessings done. Bryant did such an awesome job. I am so grateful for the preisthood he holds and for the example he is to me and my girls. He is such a good daddy. I always have known how lucky I was to be married to such a good man, but watching him bless my babies yesterday made me appreciate and love him so much more.

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday Bryant and I took our girls for their 4 month doctors appointments. I can't beleive they are already 4 months. Time seriously flies. Anyways I thought I would share their stats with everyone.
Bailee who was born at 2 lbs. 12 oz. now weighs 8 lbs 15 oz.& is 21.5 inches long. She is still under the 5th percentile for both height and weight, but the doctor is very pleased with her growth.
As for Berklee who weighed 3 lbs. 13 oz at birth now weighs 11 lbs 2 oz putting her in the 5th percentile for weight. She is 23 inches long and in the 10th percentile for length.
Both girls are very healthy and have come a long ways. I am so thankful that they have been able to remain free from any illness so far this winter.

Bailee and Berklee were pumpkins for Halloween this year. I thought they looked so cute.

I just love this picture because I can picture them in about 15 years doing this exact same pose Berklee holding up her finger saying " I'm number 1" and Bailee sticking her tongue out at me. Little stinkers. Maybe by next year this whole swine flu scare will be over and we will actually be able to leave the house and go Trick or Treating.

2 Busy

So I have been really bad at this blogging thing, I thought that once my babies got here I would blog all the time, because I would have tons to blog about. I forgot once minor detail in that having twins means you also have no time, and if you do it is spent doing other things like showering, brushing your teeth, and maybe even doing some housework. So not that I am lacking in things to blog about I just have been 2 busy 2 blog, and have been filling my time instead with playing with my cute babies. I love being a mommy and love seeing the growth my girls are making every day, there are really starting to focus and smile at me- and I even get an occasional cooing from them. There Dr. is really pleased with their growth and is actually surprised by how well they are doing. I just have one thing to say, and that is they are so stinkin cute- not that I have any favoritism towards them or anything.

So my girls are already 5 weeks old, and the have spent all but one day of it in the hospital. Our doctor told us last Saturday that we could anticipate taking Berklee out of the hospital on Monday, but would have to leave Bailee in for a little while while she caught up. She was born a pound lighter than Berklee and was always a little behind Berklee in her progression. We knew it would probably be another week or two before Bailee would probably get to come home with us, and new that it was going to be extremely difficult having one baby in the NICU and one out. I swear that Twins can communicate because that very same day Bailee started meeting the criteria the NICU has for discharge. She started eating all of her meals from a bottle without having to have any of them pushed through her NG tube, and was having less frequent drops in her oxygen and heartrate, ( which she had been struggling with for weeks.) Sunday morning came and went and still her progression continued, our doctor told us that if she kept up the good work, she could possible leave in the morning with her sister. This was music to our ears. They say that 90 percent of the time twins leave the hospital at different times, but not my girls Bailee is really a fighter and was bound and determined not to get left there alone. We were discharged from the hospital Monday morning and now have been home for two days. Bailee did have to come home on a pulse oximeter to measure her oxygen and heart rate when she ate, with supplimental oxygen I could give her if I needed to, but both have done extremely well. As for me...I never knew what the word tired meant until these last two days. The girls eat every 3 hours and it seems as if I barely get done feeding, changing, and burping both of them and it is time to start over. I am so extremely happy to have them at home with me though and still can't beleive that these two perfect little angels are my daughters. Lassie- Bryant's mom- has been staying with us and it's a good thing because she has done laundry, cleaned bottles, and ran around cleaning up after us for the last two days. Otherwise I'm not sure what my house would look like today. I've been a little late on posting any pictures of the girls, so here are some random pictures of them in the hospital.

Well I know that everyone has been waiting on me so patiently to post a few pictures of the twins. These last couple of weeks have been extremely hectic and now that they are 17 days old, I finally found a few moments to update the blog.
I came down to a doctor's appt.17 days ago on July 21 and have not been home since, Dr. Horsley( who is not my regular OB but was filling in for my doctor who was on vacation -just my luck) decided it was in my best interest and the babies best interest that we have a C-section. Bailee was having a few complications, as well as me. I was thinking when he told me I needed a C-section that we would make an appt. and come back in a day or two and have our babies, but NO before we knew it I was on the operating table, and my babies were here. Bailee Jo was born first at 6:12 pm weighing 2 lbs. 12 oz. measuring 15 1/2 inches long. Then came Berklee Brin at 6:14 weighing 3 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 16 1/2 inches long. Even though both babies were born extremely small and premature, they are little fighters. They have both been in the NICU since birth-keeping me extremely busy but have done extremely well, only needing oxygen and IV's for a the first few days. They are both learning to eat from a bottle and aregrowing every day. Last night Bailee weighed 3.2 lbs. and Berklee weighed 4.2 lbs.Their doctor told me the expect them to be in the NICU for 5 weeks, but it all just depends on how well they are doing. They both have to be able to eat all of their meals from a bottle, and not need to be fed through their NG tube. As of right now they are only eating 3 out of 8 meals a day from a nipple. Berklee did get bumped today to eating every other meal from a bottle, so we will see how that goes. It is so much fun being a mommy. It's crazy how they already have such cute personalities. Long time... no update

I know it has been a long time with no update about my pregnancy and so I thought I would try to give a breif summary of what's been going on. I am now 31.5 weeks and am no longer working. I have had a few scares with my blood pressure over the last couple of weeks, and so my doctor has recommended I quit work and stay at home. I have felt pretty good lately other than the headaches, dizziness, and nausea, but my doctor wants to make sure I dont' develop preeclampsia so for now I am just taking it easy. It has been quite a change for me from working 5 days a week to filling up my free time with making baby bows, reading books about rasing twins, watching soap operas, and taking a nap whenever I want. I am still in shock that I am going to have twins, and the weeks are passing by quicker and quicker. Before I know it they will be here, and then I won't even know what the word nap means. My doctor has told me he won't let me go past 38 weeks and says that most twins come early around 35. That means in 3 1/2 weeks I could be a mommy of twins. It is very exciting but scary all at once. The picture of me was from last week so I am sure I am a little bit bigger now. I will try to be better about blogging, especially since I have nothing better to do now with my time.

Happy 1st Birthday Brinlee! One year ago today, I gave birth to my sweet Brinlee Jo. I can't believe it's already been a year. This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions. From the lowest of losing my Brinlee, to finding out we are having twin girls. I can't believe I've actually made it through a whole year. One year ago today, I would have never thought that life could go on, or that I was ever going to be able to laugh again, but with the Lord's help I did. I still struggle every day with wondering what Brinlee would be doing, or what she would look like, never knowing if I am going to cry my way through the entire day, or if I am going to be okay. But the fact is that I am doing it. I never knew the heartache a person could go through, until I've actually been there myself, or never knew the power of a mother's love until I held my daughter in my arms for the very first time. I love you Brinlee and can't wait until the day I get to see you again and get the opportuntiy to be with you forever.

Bryant and I went for our 20 week ultrasound today to find out what we are having. We were pleasantly surprised when they told us we were having not only one healthy baby girl, but 2. I am a bit overwhelmed and am still in shock from when they told us in January that we were having Twins, let alone having 2 girls. I just hope they become the best of friends. The babies are growing rapidly each measuring at about a pound. I feel like I am already huge, and wonder how big am I really going to get with this pregnancy. At 20 weeks, I am almost the size I was when I delivered Brinlee. I can barely wait to start shopping for all the cute little matching outfits and getting to dress them up. 145 days and counting! Here is a picture of each of them, aren't they just so cute already.

My sister Aubri has been nagging me to start a blog...so here I am. I figure it would be a great way to motivate myself to actually take pictures and document a little bit of our lives. I am going to keep this first post short and sweet, but promise to update it shortly.
